What is Delta-8 THC?
According to the National Cancer Institute, Δ-8 THC is “An analogue of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) with antiemetic, anxiolytic, appetite-stimulating, analgesic, and neuroprotective properties. [Delta-8-THC] binds to the cannabinoid G-protein coupled receptor CB1, located in the central nervous system…This agent exhibits a lower psychotropic potency than [delta-9-THC], the primary form of THC found in cannabis.”
Many cannabis users find Delta-8 THC to be a semi-sedative physical sensation without the overwhelming mental stimulation of Delta-9 THC, resulting in a smoother, much milder experience.
In terms of the molecular structure, Delta-8 THC is very similar to Delta-9 THC, the THC in marijuana and widely used in the United States for both recreational and medicinal benefits.
Delta-8 THC is a close cousin to Delta-9 THC, exhibiting it’s own unique medicinal and psychoactive properties.
Delta-8 THC has a relative potency of 2:3 to Delta-9 THC, or about 70% as potent as the popular Delta-9 THC.
Delta-8 binds to the CB1 receptor like Delta-9 THC, but it’s affinity for the receptor is different due to its slightly altered molecular structure.
It’s been studied as far back as 1995 for it’s antiemetic (effective against vomiting and nausea) effectiveness in pediatric oncology. During the study, vomiting was completely prevented and side-effects were reported as negligible for all of the children in the study. Many consumers find the effects of Delta-8 THC to be noticeable in sleep, mood, and everyday well-being.

At first I was surprised at the idea of a mushroom vape. Have not tried massive doses but small doses definitely relax me. Flavor was ok as well.
Mango isn't really my jam but this wasn't bad for a mango flavor. Tasted great and magic mushrooms had great effects. Working up to a larger dose as I just microdose for mild relief.
My first ever product from trehouse. Seems to be high quality flavor and potency.
Does the job, tastes great. Hope there is a 5g version in the works. This is my favorite flavor.
This stuff was delicious and trippy.
Love these new IKONIK THCA pre rolls. Another slam dunk from Wild Orchard hemp.
I Love ❣️ these 2 gram bad boys !!! They last quite a while as par how much you use it. Tastes like cotton candy 😋!!! And delivers a good punch 👊. Alien Rock Candy is my favorite. Check out all the strains and flavors !!!

Today's review is quite an interesting one. I reviewed some steak seasoning from Highway Seasonings (D-Squared Worldwide) a while back and have now had a chance to try out one of their other seasonings. This one is called Red Dust and is a "beverage topper", but could really be used on anything. It's very similar to Tajín with a chile lime flavor to it and has 100mg of D9 in it.
Packaging - This comes in a small jar with a child resistant screw off lid. There's a seal inside the lid as well for extra peace of mind. The label has some good info on it such as amount of cannabinoids (100mg), dosing (2.5mg D9 per gram), and a QR for labs. My only gripe is that some of the writing is so small on the label it's almost impossible to read with magnification.
Labs - The QR code takes you directly to a download of the labs. They are from Bluebonnet Labs and show a little over 130mg of D9, almost 30mg more than advertised, which is certainly ok in my book.
Taste/Uses - If you've had Tajín before you pretty much know what to expect. It's got a nice sour lime and slightly spicy chile flavor to it that's a perfect match for Mexican food or to top certain beverages. You can use it with a nice Mexican lager like Dos Equis to give it a little extra flavor, or my personal favorite, put some in a Bloody Mary. It's dosed low enough that you don't really have to worry about taking too much unless you really like your seasonings and eat a ton of it.
Effects - According to a calculator I found online, one teaspoon of seasoning should be around 7mg of D9. Keep in mind this is nano D9 so it does kick in a little quicker and stronger than you might be used to, but it's still a low enough dose to where you probably won't me taking too much. For me it's definitely not a product I would solely use to get high as my normal dose is about 25mg of D9 and that's an awful lot of seasoning. It's nice to be able to mix some in a drink or some tacos though and still get a lower dose that helps me relax and chill out. In those lower doses I can still feel it, but It's not anything where I get real high or can't function, it's more just calming and helps me focus a little and feel relaxed. If you just want to get high, there are plenty of products out there for that. For me this is just something to throw in a Bloody Mary from time to time to give it a little extra boost to the buzz.
Conclusion - This is definitely an interesting product and a pretty cool one. It's not going to be great for people who are just out to get high or have a huge tolerance, but if you're just looking for something to spice up some drinks or food and give it a little extra kick, and you like Tajín, this might be just the thing for you.
Besides tasting great, they actually work. This is my 5th time reordering and there will be many more.
Today's review is certainly an interesting one, steak seasoning (yes, you heard me right, steak seasoning) from Highland Seasoning (D Squared Worldwide). If you had told me years ago I'd be eating a delicious steak and getting high from the seasoning I probably wouldn't have believed you, but here we are. They have a whole line of different D9 seasonings based around their "nano hemp tech". It's for sure a cool idea, but is it any good? Let's find out.
Packaging - The seasoning comes in a 6 ounce glass jar with child resistant screw off lid. I was happy to see the child resistant packaging, that was a nice touch. The jar was sealed inside to keep things fresh. The label looks nice and has plenty of good information on it, but the text is so small it's very hard to read it without a magnification device of some sort. There is a QR code that takes you straight to the appropriate lab results.
Labs - The labs are from Bluebonnet Labs and are potency only. They show 2.47mg/g and 346mg total D9 per container with a small amount of CBN taking the cannabinoid total to almost 353mg for the container, almost exactly what is advertised.
Flavor - Even though it's a cool idea, if the seasoning isn't good it kind of defeats the purpose. Luckily I can say that's not the case and it's actually a really good seasoning in its own right. It's extremely salty so keep that in mind. I had already salted my steak before putting on the seasoning so it was salt overload for me and next time around I'll not salt it first. It's not all just salt though, I'm not sure what all is in this, but it's got a really good flavor with some herbs, garlic, and such. We had some friends over for dinner and everyone who tried it commented on how good it was. We tried it on our fried potatoes as well and it was just as good on them as it was on the steak. A little goes a long way and it's pretty reasonably dose at 2.5mg/g, which according to a g to tsp calculator I found online for spices should be about 7mg of THC per teaspoon of seasoning.
Effects - At around 7mg per teaspoon you probably aren't going to overdo it on this stuff depending on your tolerance. My usual dose of D9 is around 20mg of so, which would have been about a tablespoon, which is quite a bit of seasoning. I ended up using a little less than that, probably about 15mg worth. It hit pretty quickly, within 30 minutes I'd say. It was fairly mild for me since I'm used to a little more than 15mg, but if you're new to D9 or don't know your tolerance yet I would recommend starting slow with just a teaspoon or less to see how it affects you. The other two friends who tried it only had half a teaspoon each and they also noticed some effects, but it was mild for them as well as they only had about 4mg worth or so probably. It's certainly nice to be able to eat a steak and be feeling nice and relaxed and happy 30 minutes later though and it's nice to kind of be able to dial in how much you want. The effects felt just like other D9 edibles I've had and lasted about 3 hours or so probably.
Conclusion - Maybe it's just me, but I think it's super cool that I can eat a good steak and be getting a dose of D9 at the same time. It's dosed in such a way that it's fairly mild unless you take quite a bit, but I prefer that since I can pretty much use as much as I would want to without worrying about overdoing it. The seasoning tastes really good and though I've only tried it on steak and potatoes so far I could see myself using this on chicken, burgers, and lots of other things as well.
I add a little bit of fruit juice to the blood orange seltzer and enjoy the fun high that comes with it. I don’t drink alcohol anymore. This is definitely a socializing drink.☺️
